Billings South Side neighbors are hoping for a safer community. Crime is the reason why many residents on the South Side say they no longer feel safe in their neighborhood. KULR spoke with South Side resident Max Hoffman, who said he’s not just living there, he’s cleaning it up. Hoffman’s apartment rental company is renovating and updating properties while keeping rents affordable. But the crime issue looms large for many in the community. South Side resident Shaynna Doucet said a lot of change is needed. She grew up in Billings, but said she no longer feels safe because of an increase in drugs and break-ins. Hoffman is renovating a home which was vandalized Monday night. He’s taking older, more dilapidated properties and bringing them up to code, making them an asset to the neighborhood.
