American’s are trapped in the Either/Or logical fallacy.

Our founders set us up with a two party system. Voters are conditioned to think that one or the other party will lead us to ruin or prosperity. The midterm elections are eight months away and political pundits and prognosticators are predicting hard times for the Democrats.

Some predict that the Dem’s will loose the Senate and have no chance of taking the House. So what? Our choice is between a party that will sell us out to special interest groups and another party that will sell us out to corporations. Cats don’t change their stripes and it doesn’t matter which political cat is in office, because you and I will be played with like mice regardless of who’s in power.

In the 1930’s, Bertold Brecht wrote a line to a poem that became famous in the 1960s, “What if they gave a war and nobody came?”
