I Will Not Go Quietly – Opinions From E. Curtis Johnson

Several news sources reported Donald Sterling’s latest racial slurs. Reacting to Sterling’s comments, Larry Johnson, New York Knicks executive and former NBA player, tweeted, “Black people your Focusing on the wrong thing. We should be focusing on having our own, Own Team own League! To For Self!!” [sic] Sterling’s comments instantly went viral. Johnson’s comments? <crickets> 

Here’s equality: both statements are wrong. Unfortunately, despite America’s racial advancements, multiple double standards exist.  We could also talk about the name of the NFL team in Washington, D.C. or the MLB team mascot in Cleveland, but I’m out of time.

My name is E. Curtis Johnson. If America eliminates racial inequality and double standards, I’d like to jump for joy! It’s not that I won’t jump, I can’t. You see, as a 6’2” white man - double standards have told for years that I can’t jump.
