The latest Middle East crisis is a picture on social media. A Beirut TV station demanded Miss Lebanon, be stripped of her title for appearing in a photo with Miss Israel at the Miss Universe pageant. Miss Lebanon defended herself, claiming she was photo bombed, against her will, by Miss Israel. Miss Israel replied, “…it…makes me sad. Too bad you cannot put the hostility out of the game." Lebanon and Israel are still at war, but what if differences were settled, pageant diva style? Each contestant could make catty remarks about the other’s dresses, accuse one another of having flabby thighs, and then pull each other’s hair for good measure. Yes, my solution is tasteless, misogynistic, and perpetuates negative stereotypes. But what’s worse, photo bombs or explosive bombs? I’m E. Curtis Johnson. How unfortunate; beauty reignites decades of ugliness. Oh, sorry, it’s a talent competition, not a beauty pageant?  If one’s talent is continuing a war, good luck in the “Miss Congeniality” competition!
