Look at the clean, beautiful sky above Colstrip, Montana.

Have you ever noticed how some folks in the media and the radical environmental groups will always show photos of Colstrip in a negative light? They want you to think the STEAM coming out of those stacks in the winter is pollution. Look at that photo above- that is what it looks like when Colstrip is up and running.

Colstrip is home to a coal mine and a coal-fired power plant, which is being targeted for shutdown by new regulations from the Biden Administration.

On Tuesday, I attended a roundtable discussion led by Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) at the mine in Colstrip. Daines said, "This Administration wants to shutter the Colstrip community." Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte (R-MT) said that if the Biden Administration were to force the early closure of Colstrip it would lead to a $1.1 billion increase in energy costs over the next 20 years. And that is after energy prices have already jumped 35% since Biden took office.

Former State Senator Duane Ankney (R-Colstrip) told folks in Colstrip that in 2024 "you're voting your damn paycheck."

Northwestern Energy (NWE) CEO Brian Bird talked about the important need for Colstrip and a natural gas-fired power plant in Laurel. Fr 4 days back in January, he says NWE could not serve their customers without Colstrip. 50% of their power had to be imported from other states during that time, even though Montana has historically been a net exporter of power.

Westmoreland CEO Martin Purvis also shared some great remarks following a chat he had with an 83 year old military veteran here in Montana.
