Enough May Not Be Fair – Opinions From E. Curtis Johnson [VIDEO]
An ugly divorce battle in Oklahoma over an alleged $18 billion oil fortune blows a hole in the theory, “…I do think that at a certain point you’ve made enough money.” (Barack Obama, May 19, 2012). In November, a judge ruled that Sue Ann Arnall was entitled to $1 billion of the couple’s wealth. On Friday, Arnall’s attorneys appealed because they claim her ex-husband, oil magnate Harold Hamm, is worth $18 billion. Assuming that Hamm is worth $18 billion, is $1 billion the, ”… point you’ve made enough money?” If so, one must accept that a woman’s fair share in a divorce is 1/18th of a couple’s community property. The one size fits all mentality of deciding the “...point you’ve made enough money…” would shaft Sue Ann Arnall. You’re the best person to decide the point you’ve made enough money, not someone else. If you disagree, please tell Sue Ann Arnall that she should be a good girl and be happy with her 1/18th share in her divorce settlement.
