Snowbowl Resort Expansion Gets Final Approval After a Decade of Waiting
Snowbowl ski resort has been trying to expand since 2004, but has been waiting for the Lolo National Forest to finish a lengthy environmental review process. This week, news broke that the review process was finally finished.
"Forest Supervisor Tim Garcia signed a record of decision for the Snowbowl expansion environmental impact statement," said Lolo National Forest Spokesman Boyd Hartwig. "That's our environmental review process that we go through with any land management decision. It allows Snowbowl to begin their expansion operations. It does allow them to expand from existing about 1100 acres of use to 2243 to be exact."
After almost a decade of waiting, skiers will likely have to wait through at least one more winter for Snowbowl to chart new ski lifts and runs.
