Not Everyone Can Be Jilted By Taylor Swift – Opinions From E. Curtis Johnson [VIDEO]
There was a significant shift of power on Tuesday. Not the elections, but what Taylor Swift did to the streaming music service, Spotify. Taylor denied Spotify the rights to her new album, “1989,” and pulled the rights to all her songs. We’re entering an era where content providers rule, not distribution channels. You’ll see similar shifts of power in broadcasting, cable, and the movie industries. She’ll make millions more on iTunes and in CD sales than on streaming rights from Spotify. Swift understands the law of supply and demand. Spotify shouldn’t complain. Taylor has a long history of short relationships. According to Gawker, Swift has dated and dumped several celebrities, including John Mayer, Taylor Lautner, and Jake Gyllenhaal. Some say the slender siren also broke up with Country Music, but I digress. Spotify joins the list of Taylor’s Ex’s and now has a scar it can talk about. I’m E. Curtis Johnson. If Taylor’s true to form Spotify will get lots of publicity because she’ll write a song about the streaming service.
