Missoula Police Arrest Man For Strangling His Wife
At about 7:30 Friday night, a concerned neighbor called Missoula Police after hearing screaming and doors being slammed. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh says officers arrived and found a male in the residence and a female next door.
“They made contact with both, made observations, collected statements, and at the conclusion of their initial investigation, 47-year-old Missoula resident Lloyd Rushing was arrested for partner or family member assault and strangulation of a partner or family member, which is a felony,” Welsh said.
During the investigation, Welsh says officers discovered that the female victim had apparent injuries.
“The officer’s observations, and the statements, revealed that she did have what appeared to be soft tissue injury that were apparent,” Welsh said. “Of course, on a strangulation type case, we never know what potential internal injuries might have occurred. We always recommend that a victim of such a thing be seen by a medical professional.”
The female victim did not request medical attention. According to Welsh, the couple has been married for a number of years and it appears that they were arguing about some type of financial issue.
