Looks Like the Keystone Pipeline Could End Up Happening
These are obviously outdated numbers now, but I remember close to a decade ago reporting the fact that the Keystone Pipeline could bring in $65-100 million every single year to Eastern Montana counties if it got up and running. Could the Keystone Pipeline, or some version thereof, finally become a reality? How much money would it bring in now?
After President Trump was elected back in November I told you how he was ready and willing to get the Keystone Pipeline up and running. But what about Canada?
Here's what I wrote in late November:
When I first heard rumors that the Keystone XL Pipeline could get back up and running again, I was initially skeptical. Sure, we all want to see it up and running- but the Canadians already built a pipeline to the West Coast of Canada in place of Keystone, and the company that was pushing the project has already moved on after it was killed by Biden.
Well, we got some great news earlier this week as Sean Hannity shared this update from investigative reporter Sara Carter: All Of A Sudden, Canada Wants To Help Trump Restart Keystone Pipeline (h/t KJJR Radio on X)
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith aims to revive discussions about cross-border oil pipeline projects, specifically targeting collaboration with the Trump administration. She expressed interest in exploring new pipeline routes or modifying existing ones to support Alberta’s goal of doubling oil and gas production.
Carter also cites support from Montana officials like Attorney General Austin Knudsen (R-MT) and former Trump Interior Secretary and Congressman Ryan Zinke (R-MT01).
On that front, I can also tell you that I was on Capitol Hill during and after President Trump's inauguration last week, and they told me that, yes, there is a Canadian group actively working to make the Keystone a reality.
