If This Happens It Would Kill Butte’s Economy
This is crazy. Can you imagine if they were actually successful with what they want to do in federal court? They would kill the Butte economy.
That was my reaction when I saw this story in the Lee Newspapers here in Montana: Ten plaintiffs from Montana's landmark climate case challenge Trump admin's energy policies
Ten of the 16 Montanans who successfully challenged Montana’s prohibition on greenhouse gas emissions analyses under the state constitution are now seeking to undo several executive orders from President Donald Trump aimed at "unleashing” domestic fossil fuel production and undoing green energy policies implemented by his predecessor. Twenty-two people under the age of 25, including 15 from Montana and 10 of the plaintiffs in the Held v. Montana case, filed a 126-page federal lawsuit Thursday in the U.S. District Court of Montana against Trump and several federal agencies and their directors, including the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Energy, Department of Transportation and NASA.
What was Held v Montana? It was known as the climate kids lawsuit. It was a joke. Cases like this were laughed out of every other court in the country, but far Left judges here in Montana let it move forward. It basically was a bunch of wealthy, white liberal parents using their kids as human shields in the war against American energy.
The fact that they filed the case in the Mining City of Butte was interesting. If these climate alarmists got their way and shut down American energy, what do you think would happen to the mine in Butte? Plus, what about that potential $4 billion data center that Butte officials are hoping to lure to town? Kiss that goodbye. The climate alarmist agenda is also anti agriculture, which is a big part of the Southwest Montana economy.
Even more rich is the fact that the former Democrat gubernatorial candidate is involved with this latest lawsuit, too. Montana Democrats are poking the people of Butte right in the eye with this one.
