Concert in Billings for Standing Rock Sioux
A concert in Billings today will benefit Standing Rock Sioux tribal members protesting the North Dakota Access Pipeline. The Gazette reports the all-ages event will begin at 4 p.m. at The Railyard, 2526 Montana Ave. Entry is free, but a donation of $5 is suggested. Donations of winter clothing, coats and camping gear will also be accepted.
Hardin blues guitarist Jared Stewart will headline the event, which will feature eight performers, two speakers and a silent auction. Funds raised will go toward helping pay for legal expenses for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. Donations will also go toward different protest camps, including the Red Warrior Camp and the Sacred Stone Camp. Scheduled to open the show will be Contact Low, followed by Sentinal, Apache: Mr 24-7, speaker Kinsley Walksalong, The Falcon Bros., Only Threads Left, Drivin’ Blind, As the Crow Flies and closing with Jared Stewart.
