Fires that broke out west of Billings on Saturday near 72nd Street West around 10:30 p.m. are now under control. Interim Yellowstone County DES Coordinator Lt. Kent O’Donnell said there were indications that a train snagged a power line, causing a surge that likely caused of a small fire near Highway 3. As of midnight, the fires were under control with crews working on mop up operations.
