If your weekend plans included a carefree drive across the Beartooth Pass, that will have to wait. The National Park service already closed the Wyoming side of the pass last week, and now adverse weather conditions are closing the Montana side.

According to a press release from the Montana Department of Transportation, US 212 is closed 12 miles south of Red Lodge due to a storm that's setting in this weekend.

The Montana side of Beartooth Pass was scheduled to close for the season over Columbus Day weekend. Now with this storm expected to last a few days, MDT will decide if and when the pass will be able to reopen this year.

Current forecast predicts 4-6 inches of snow in Red Lodge by Sunday night. Cooke City could get up to a foot of accumulation by the end of the weekend.
