Major General Pete Hronek is the Adjutant General of the Montana National Guard. He recently visited troops from several Montana units currently deployed in Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

In case you didn't know, today is "the day of the deployed." It's a day in honor of all of the troops who are currently deployed all over the world. Yes, despite the withdrawal from Afghanistan, we still have thousands of troops deployed all over the world who are serving in a variety of capacities.

As I scroll through Facebook on Veterans Day, I see many people who are changing their profile pictures to one from their uniformed days. I see many posting pictures of family members who served, and many "thank you" messages sent to those who are serving, or have served in the past...

Once again this year, Brewer Dental Center is offering to buy your Halloween Candy for $1 a pound. In addition to knowing that you might be saving yourself some extra pounds or cavities, you can also know that your candy will be shipped off to our troops overseas via Operation Gratitude...

As I sit here reviewing Facebook and seeing all of the Memorial Day messages of hope and acknowledgements for our U.S. Military, I think of all the soldiers, men and women that I know.

I think it's obvious as a nation that we don't do enough to recognize our soldiers and the sacrifices they and their families make to keep America free.

A 10-year-old north Texas girl named Jordyn Self accidentally found her Christmas present recently, which is a collectible American Girl doll called 'Saige.' What she decided to do with it is pretty incredible for a young kid.
