As we head into Memorial Day, I was thinking back on the 2014 Big Sky Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. This was a powerful moment, as a 92 year old WWII veteran from Choteau stood up out of his wheelchair and pointed to his own son's name on the Vietnam Wall.
Over the weekend, the Canty Boots crew took to Instagram and said it was "Time for my annual post of my favorite post of all time ! When the angels of VS wore Canty Boots and then my gram and her crew reenacted it and SLAYED ."
Several years ago I was camping on a friend's ranch north of Big Timber one summer when we drove past their sheep dog. That thing was one of the most stately looking animals I had ever seen.
Back in 2014, I got to take part in the Big Sky Honor Flight for our World War II veterans. While I was interviewing a great WWII vet from Glasgow named Bill Bell before we left for the WWII Memorial, I asked him who he was thinking about, or who he was remembering.
