BREAKING: Missing Billings Man Found Deceased
UPDATE 4/13 - The body of Roger Kephart was discovered by a group of volunteers, per a Tweet Wednesday morning from the Billings Police Department.
The search for an elderly Billings man became increasingly urgent Tuesday afternoon (4/12) when the Billings Police Department issued a press release asking for assistance from the public regarding Roger Kephart, age 88.
He was last seen on Billings West End.
Kephart was reportedly last seen on Monday evening (4/11) at his residence on the 3800 block of Heritage Drive. The neighborhood is near the corner of Shiloh and Broadwater Ave. The gentleman was at his home at around 7:30 and was captured on a neighbor's Ring camera at 8:13 pm. The man suffers from dementia.
88-year-old Kephart suffers from dementia and his disappearance is now a Missing Persons case (22-22962). His safety and well-being are certainly a concern, especially with the winter storm conditions Billings is currently experiencing. Temperatures are expecting to drop into the teens Tuesday night, with wind chill values around 0 degrees and the man is not dressed for winter weather. According to the BPD, Kephart was last seen wearing a rust orange plaid shirt, gray long john pants, and slippers.
BPD searches haven't revealed any clues.
According to the press release, the Billings Police Department has combed the area on foot, with K9s, and from the air with a thermal imaging drone. Concerned residents have also assisted in the search for Roger Kephart and after 24 hours, the elderly man remains missing.
