Missoula Police Searching for Flag Thief, Asking For Help in Identifying Man
Missoula police are asking the public for help in recovering an American flag that has gone missing from a local business. Missoula police Public information officer Travis Welsh explains.
“We recently took in a report from a business located in the 2400 block of North Reserve Street that their American flag had been stolen,” Welsh said. “A representative told us that sometime overnight on January 15 or during the early morning of January 16th a man had come by and taken an American Flag that they had posted on the exterior.”
The business was able to capture video of the theft and now police are asking the public for help.
“It appears to be a white male with short hair, wearing a lighter colored jacket with blue jeans and it looks like black tennis shoes with white soles," Welsh said. "If anyone does recognize this individual we ask that they contact officer Lydia Hess at 552-6300.”
Welsh says the flag is valued at under one hundred dollars, so the incident Is being investigated as a misdemeanor theft case.
