When they first called me and told me that I would be getting inducted into the Montana Pro Rodeo Hall & Wall of Fame- I couldn't believe it. What a huge honor from some of the most salt of earth people you can meet.

Apparently this is the first year ever that they launched a new category for the "Great Montana Western Media Award."

Unlike most media awards, this is something you don't put in for. This just came out of the blue. And seriously, the rodeo crowd and the ag crowd are some of the best people you will come across.

MT Pro Rodeo Hall & Wall of Fame: "From combat deployments overseas to mornings behind the mic, Aaron Flint has dedicated his life to Montana, the Western way of life, and telling the stories that matter. As host of Montana Talks, he’s a trusted voice for our state and we are proud to honor him with our Great Montana Western Media Award!"

Some folks who had heard about the upcoming awards ceremony asked me- Aaron, did you do rodeo back in the day? "No, but I was in on a few goat ropes in Iraq and Afghanistan"...(ha).

My grandma always told me as a kid that none of these towns would be here if it weren’t for our farmers and ranchers, and rodeo is so symbolic of our farmers, ranchers, and our Montana way of life.

MT Pro Rodeo Hall & Wall of Fame: "Tuning into Montana Talks means staying informed about stories that matter. Aaron is known for finding guests who are otherwise unknown and for digging into issues that haven’t yet made headlines but should. He feels blessed to step behind the microphone each day to fight for Montana, the Western way of life, and to advocate for the Western lifestyle."

I was at the awards banquet last year, and it is a roomful of some incredible folks. I'm incredibly blessed just to be a fly on the wall in a room like this, much less get an award.

By the way, they may still have some tickets and tables left. Here's the details:
