Montana is NOT a Bison State, Cats Eye Natl Championship

"The boys are doing tshirts for Frisco!" That's what our friend Janel Wiese shared on Facebook over the holidays.

Check out that t-shirt of the Grebe boys roping and riding a bison as the Melstone Cowboys and the Montana State Bobcats saddle up for the national championship in Frisco, Texas.

One year ago I wrote this headline: Montana is NOT a Bison State, Griz Eye National Championship.

What an incredible game that was back in December of 2023. My cousin and I were there, in the nosebleeds, as the Griz toppled the NDSU Bison following a miraculous catch in double overtime at Washington-Griz stadium in Missoula. They then fell to South Dakota State in the national championship.

This year you can write a similar headline: Montana is NOT a Bison State, Cats Eye Natl Championship

Coming up in 2025, the Bobcats will face the North Dakota State University Bison in the national championship after NDSU defeated SDSU and the Bobcats defeated South Dakota.

Here's another cool angle on the story for Montana Griz and Montana Bobcat fans alike. Montana State's marching band will make it to Frisco for the national championship. And the Montana Grizzlies helped pay to send them there, just like the Montana State Bobcats helped send the Griz marching band last national championship.
