Driver Complains of “EV Hell” to Glacier National Park in Montana
"I had to go back to this town called Shelby. It's in Montana, and, yeah, it's a dump, and it's like meth labs and crack heads everywhere, and I got one charging station that's giving me like three kilowatt hours." -@n8jorgensen on Instagram
A friend sent me this video on Instagram and said, "You leave Shelby out of this!" Ha. I don't know if this guy @n8jorgensen on Instagram was just having fun and joking around, or if it actually happened...but either way- you gotta give this a watch.
He talks about being in "EV hell" during his electric vehicle road trip from Salt Lake City, Utah to Glacier National Park in Montana.
Here's the transcript from the video: "On spring break, going to Glacier with my family, trying to take my kids someplace fun for spring break. We're traveling from Salt Lake to Glacier National Park in Montana. I've got it in the navigation. It's taken us to all the different super charging stations along the way. Everything's going smoothly. I get to Great Falls, Montana. We get a full charge, and it's telling us that the next stop is Glacier National Park. As we're getting there, I guess we're not going to make it, so it reroutes us to another charging station, super charging station, called Milk River. And I didn't know this, but it was in Canada, and this wouldn't be a problem, but I don't have- I didn't have my passport and all the appropriate documentation that I need to enter into another country. So we get there, I explain to them what happened. They do- they give us the search, they check our vehicle, they put us in this interrogation room, ask us all these questions. I mean, I get why they're doing it. They have to be careful. Shame on me for not having the appropriate paperwork. I get it, but yeah, it was very inconvenient. They turned us away. I had to go back to this town called Shelby. It's in Montana, and, yeah, it's a dump, and it's like meth labs and crack heads everywhere, and I got one charging station that's giving me like three kilowatt hours. Yeah, so crazy."
