This Montana NFL Stud Stars in Hilarious Safe Driving Ad Campaign
If you don't follow football, you're probably not familiar with the name Troy Andersen. If you DO, then you know that he's pretty awesome. After graduating high school, the Dillon, MT native played football for four years as a Montana State University Bobcat.
The 6'4", 235-pound linebacker was a second-round draft pick by the Atlanta Falcons in 2022 and is now a starter. Andersen is off to a great start this season, scoring 10 tackles and .5 sacks in the Week 1 game against the Carolina Panthers. ESPN wrote a piece at the end of last season headlined, "Why Troy Andersen Might be the Future of the Middle of the Falcons' Defense" and CBS Sports said this week "...the second-year pro is expected to take a major leap in Year 2." Hint: You probably want him on your fantasy team.
Watch for Troy Andersen in these funny Montana Commercials.
The Montana Department of Transportation has collaborated with Andersen on a fun series of ads where Troy deals with aggression. "On the field, it's my job to be aggressive," one ad begins. It then cuts to a clip of him screaming at a coffee pot on a Montana farm, "TROY NEEDS COFFEE!! Right NOW! BOIL! BOIL!!!" he yells at the camp-style pot. It's pretty funny. See it on MDT's Facebook page.
Meditating with a sheep? Why not.
The spot cuts to Anderson calmly holding a lamb in a tranquil pasture and the dialogue switches to him being calm on the road, reminding Montana drivers to not tailgate, drive distraction-free, use turn signals, etc. If you watch the ad closely you'll notice they include the "Montana wave" towards the end of the spot. The ads are quite well done (there are four HERE) and it's part of MDT's "Engage Montana" initiative to help lower traffic accidents and fatalities.
