Antique mall moving, new high-rise in the works.

The Downtown Billings Alliance shared some big news this week (11/28) regarding the move of YesterYears Antique Mall. The massive store at the corner of 1st Ave N and 29th St downtown is moving to the lower level of the former Hart Albin building and will occupy around 20,000 square feet of the former department store a half block from Skypoint.

The owners of the antique mall shared their excitement about the move on their Facebook page,

The corner of 1st Avenue North and 29th Street has always had a fun place to shop.
Hart Albin, in which we are moving into early next year, is just as historical and has not had a retail operation in years. We are excited to bring our customer base even closer to the heart of Downtown Billings!
The store will remain open with business as usual until Jan 31, 2024. We haven't heard how long it will take them to move into their new home in the Hart Albin Building.

A new 12-story building is planned for downtown.

Once the antique mall moves out, plans are already in place for an exciting new development to take over the footprint at the busy downtown corner of 1st Ave and 29th St. Dubbed Futurity Tower, it will be the first new high-rise to be built in Montana since 1984.

High Plains Architechs describe the project HERE, with eye-catching renderings of what the 140-foot tall, LEED-certified structure will look like. The plans propose two floors of retail, dining, and commercial space on the lower levels, with housing (1 and 2-bedroom units) on the next ten floors. When built, Futurity Tower will be the 4th tallest building in Montana.
