It may only be October, but the holidays are going to be here before you know it. This week’s obviously Halloween, but I’ve already seen Christmas decorations popping up in local stores. I don’t get it, but apparently, the average American is just chomping at the bit to get a head start on Christmas. One of the more comical parts of the holiday season, in my opinion, is the annual obsession with Hallmark movies. Don’t get me wrong, watching one is fine, but the plots are all basically the same.

It usually goes something like this: there’s a single woman from a big city who moves to a small rural town. She bumps into a ruggedly handsome man at a coffee shop. They share a brief, heartfelt moment over a small tragedy, but she never catches his name (cue dramatic music). Later, the friendly coffee shop owner lets her in on the big news — that mystery man just happens to own the local Christmas tree farm. And of course, he’s single. You can see where this is going. She buys a tree, they fall in love, snow starts falling, and cue the cheesy music.

Well, brace yourself, because the cheesiness has officially begun. The Hallmark Countdown to Christmas is here. It kicked off October 17 with 24/7 holiday programming and nearly 80 hours of new content. And guess what? One of the new flicks hits close to home.

It’s called A Royal Montana Christmas, starring Fiona Gubelmann and Warren Christie. The story follows Princess Victoria of Zelarnia, who escapes royal duties for some peace at Peaceful Pines Ranch in Montana, where she once vacationed with her late father. There, she meets Huntley Blaylock, a charming local guide who doesn’t know she’s royalty. You can bet snow, romance, and small-town charm will follow.
