A few months ago I found myself in a caregiver role with zero warning. One day I wasn't; the next, I was, and I had no idea where to turn, what I was supposed to be doing, or whether I was even doing it right. If that sounds familiar, there's a free event in Billings built for exactly that moment.
Billings Library to Host CarePartners LIFE Retreat
The CarePartners LIFE Retreat will be held Wednesday, September 16, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Billings Public Library, in the Royal Johnson Community Room.
Billings Retreat Built for Family Caregivers Like Me
This one is for people caring for a loved one, whether that's a spouse, a parent, a grandparent, a sibling, or anyone else who needs extra support. Looking back, I would have given anything for something like this early on. Participants will get a chance to talk through the wins and the unexpected curveballs, pick up resources that actually help, and sit in a room with people who get it without you having to explain yourself.
If you're in that spot right now, wondering if you're doing any of this the right way, Allies in Aging is here to help.
Billings Retreat Admission Is Free, but Reservations Are Needed
There's no cost to attend the CarePartners LIFE Retreat, but organizers are asking people to reserve a spot ahead of time if they plan to go. You can RSVP online or by calling 406-259-5212.

Billings Retreat Sponsors Include Allies in Aging
Cornerstone Caregiving and Allies in Aging sponsor the retreat, made possible through BOLD grant funding from the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services.
