Summer in Billings just doesn’t feel complete without Alive After 5, and the 2025 season kicks off this Thursday, June 12, at The Pub Station!

From 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., downtown is the place to be for live music, great vibes, and community connection, and all completely free to attend.

First Stop: The Pub Station

This year’s opening event promises to set the tone for a fantastic summer. Located at 2502 First Avenue North, The Pub Station will host two incredible performances. Kicking off the night at 5:00 p.m. is Kyle Hunter, followed by the Tanner Laws Band at 6:40 p.m. It’s an outdoor party in the heart of downtown, and everyone’s invited!

Meet the Artists

Kyle Hunter brings a gritty, soulful mix of Americana and alt-country to the stage. A Montana native, he and his band, The Mountain Standard, have been lighting up the Northwest with sounds inspired by Tyler Childers and The Allman Brothers. Think driving guitar, country storytelling, and some jam-band magic thrown in.

Formed just last year in Missoula, the Tanner Laws Band is already making waves with their traditional country sound. Influenced by legends like Chris LeDoux and Johnny Cash, this band mixes heartfelt lyrics, raw authenticity, and a voice that feels like it was born for the stage. If you haven’t heard them yet, this is your chance.

Perks for the 21+ Crowd

Admission is free for everyone, but if you're 21+ and want to enjoy an adult beverage, you’ll need to grab a wristband for just $3. That small purchase goes a long way, it helps keep Alive After 5 running and funds things like public art and beautification projects throughout the downtown area.

Want a Little VIP Treatment?

For those looking to elevate their concert experience, there are a limited number of VIP wristbands available each week for $10. The VIP area includes shaded seating, tables, and free ice-cold water with a great view of the stage. Only twenty are sold per concert, so grab yours early by visiting the Downtown Billings office or calling (406) 294-5060.

Free Water, Safe Rides, and Ice Cream? Yes, Please

Thanks to Mari Mint, you can stay hydrated with free bottled water at every Alive After 5 event this summer. And when the music ends, AVA Law Group has your back with weekly Uber discount codes to get you home safely.

Big Dipper’s brand-new Ice Cream Bike will be making the rounds at each event. Because what goes better with live music and summer sunshine than a cold scoop of ice cream?
