Delightfully Delicious Pizza Place Found in a Billings Subdivision
Back in November, my family had tickets to the Pentatonix concert. We thought we'd grab dinner before the show, and since we seem to go to the same restaurants all the time (creatures of habit, right?), I wanted to pick somewhere new to try.
I asked my spouse, "How about we try that new pizza place in Annafeld?" And she was like, "Sure! Where is Annafeld?" I had to laugh. Sometimes I -wrongly- assume everyone knows where everything is in Billings.

Annafeld is the second phase of the Josephine Crossing neighborhood, located to the west of Mullowny Lane, between Josephine Crossing and Elysian School. The Annafeld subdivision has experienced significant growth over the last several years, bringing several fun shops to the area, including MT Cup Taproom.

I had heard about MT Cup Taproom when they first opened about a year ago at 1625 Annafeld Parkway E, and it's been on my short-list of restaurants to check out. We honestly don't go out to eat as often as I'd like (pesky budget!), so it took me a while to get around to this restaurant.
OMG... why did I wait so long!
Pretty much everybody likes pizza, I know. But I LOVE pizza. Especially good pizza. I could eat it several times per week and never get tired of that irresistible combo of crust, sauce, cheese, and toppings. The pizza at MT Cup Taproom checked all those boxes perfectly.
The food menu at MT Cup Taproom is not large, and in my opinion, it doesn't need to be. They have a handful of pizza options on the menu (combo, cheese, pepperoni, etc.) and a few other basic finger foods/appetizers and charcuterie boards. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza for my kids, and my wife and I split the Combo.
The ambiance while we waited for our order was enjoyable and family-friendly. Several locals at the bar were enjoying the establishment's extensive selection of local and regional beers on tap. TV's around the walls were playing sports, and while the restaurant isn't huge, there were ample tables for dining during our weeknight visit.
Locally owned, Montana-made.
If you enjoy thin-crust pizza, trust me when I say you have to try this place out. It's thin, but not crackery. The homemade sauce is nicely balanced; not too sweet or too zesty. Our pizzas were loaded with quality cheese (my kids were obsessed with the "cheese pull"), and the toppings all seemed fresh. We devoured both pizzas.
I got to chat with MT Cup Taproom owner Aunie DeWit for a few minutes after our meal. I complimented her on their pizza, and she was demure about the recipe origins, other than it's a longtime family secret.
MT Cup Taproom is currently closed on Mondays. Tuesday and Wednesday, they're open from 4 pm to close, and Thursday through Sunday, they open at 11 AM.
