You’ll Definitely Want to Look Up in Billings on January 16
The legendary US Navy Blue Angels are returning to Billings later this summer as headliners for the Yellowstone International Air Show. To kick off the excitement, residents are in for a special treat. On January 16th, the Blue Angels will be making a special winter flyover in Billings.
The ground-shaking flyover is scheduled for approximately 12:30 PM. If you don't see them, you'll certainly hear them as the Blue Angel pilots exude the precision, power, and patriotism of one of the world’s most elite flight demonstration teams, directly over the Magic City.
If you missed the Yellowstone International Airshow in 2023, you missed an incredible event. It was the first airshow held in Billings in over 20 years. Obviously, the Blue Angels were the star of the show, but attendees got to enjoy so much more at Billings Logan International Airport.
My family (and tens of thousands of others from around the state and region) enjoyed the Blue Angels immensely in 2023, and we can't wait for August 2026 for round two. With your admission, visitors can explore dozens of military and civilian aircraft and other vehicles, up-close and personal, on the event grounds.
There are lots of food and beverage vendors, and kids of all ages can enjoy fun interactive displays/activities at booths from all branches of the US military. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and make an afternoon of it.
The 2026 Yellowstone International Airshow will be held August 22 - 23. Tickets for this year's event go on sale January 16, to coincide with the Billings Blue Angels flyover. This year also marks the 250th anniversary of the United States, and the airshow this year will honor 250 years of American freedom, innovation, and service, with a special focus on the men and women who defend our nation through air, land, and sea.
